New Nado Families

New To Water Polo? Good.

You do not need to know the sport yet.

That is part of the point.

Water polo teaches athletes how to move, think, compete, and belong in the water.

We start simple.

We teach the details.

We keep the joy.

What Water Polo Is

A team sport in the water.

Athletes swim.

They pass.

They shoot.

They defend.

They listen.

They make decisions under pressure.

It looks chaotic at first.

Then patterns appear.

Spacing. Timing. Body position. Teamwork. Confidence.

That is the sport.

Why It Is Different

No standing still.

Water polo asks a lot from a young athlete.

They cannot stand still.

They cannot hide.

They cannot do it alone.

They learn to tread water.

They learn to handle contact.

They learn to stay calm.

They learn to trust teammates.

It builds strong swimmers.

It also builds strong kids.

What We Teach First

Good habits first.

Body position.

Eggbeater.

Passing.

Catching.

Shooting.

Defense.

Game sense.

No tricks.

Who Can Start

Start where you are.

A new athlete does not need water polo experience.

They need basic comfort in the water.

They need to listen.

They need to try.

Some kids come from swim.

Some come from surf.

Some come from junior lifeguards.

Some are just curious.

Good. Start there.

First Practice

Not a test.

It is a first look.

Your athlete gets in.

The coach watches.

We see how they move.

We find the right place to start.

Simple.

Age Groups

Age is based on Aug. 1.

We use your athlete's age on Aug. 1 of that season.

Turns 13 on July 31? 14U.

Turns 13 on Aug. 2? 12U.

Readiness matters too.

What To Bring

Swimsuit.

Towel.

Water bottle.

Goggles for warmup, if needed.

That is enough.

For Parents

You do not need to understand every whistle.

You will learn.

Watch the effort.

Watch the body language.

Watch whether your athlete wants to come back.

That matters first.

Try a practice

Come try a practice.

Send your athlete's name, date of birth, swimming background, and the best days to try.
